When Germany was defeated during the war much of their land was spread out and became new countries, one of the more important ones became Czechoslovakia which would become an important point for the Second World War. Poland was also given a part of Germany at the end of the war and this had agitated Germany even further. New countries like Yugoslavia in the east had also come into existence after the end of the war.
